Building for Today and Tomorrow

Over the past few years, God has grown our church family at Heritage to the point that our current facility is too small to effectively meet the needs of our (still growing) congregation.  We are thankful to God for blessing us in this way, and believe that His will for us is to build and move into a larger and more modern facility so that we can better minister to and alongside all who call Heritage their church home, even as we continue to endeavor to reach our community with the gospel of Christ.

As a first step, the church purchased 5 acres of land at 583 29 Road, less than one half mile from our current location.  We are presently in the process of developing this property and designing a building that we envision will meet our needs for many years to come.  Our expectation is that our new location and building, when completed, will enable us to:

  • Have an attractive church building and grounds with a paved parking lot of sufficient size for our congregation.
  • Enjoy a modern worship center with comfortable seating for 380 people.
  • Significantly expand and improve our classroom space for Sunday school and Bible studies.
  • Offer comfortable and generously sized infant nursery and toddler rooms, enabling us to better meet the needs of our little ones.
  • Have an on-site fellowship area for church family gatherings including dinners and receptions.

Your Participation Needed

We believe that where there is a need, God provides, often through His people.  If the Lord has laid it on your heart to participate in our building program, we would like to suggest some important areas of service for you to consider.

PRAY – God works through the prayers of His people.  Make it a point to pray for our building project.  Pray for wisdom for our building committee and elders.  Pray for God’s provision for funding this project in the midst of a financially challenging time.  Pray that God will use the new facility for His glory once it is completed.  Watch the bulletin, or attend Wednesday nights to listen for periodic updates so that you may pray more effectively.

GIVE – Beyond your regular giving to the church, give sacrificially to the building fund as the Lord enables you.  To designate a gift for the building program, write “Building Fund” in the memo portion of your check.  Building fund gifts can be placed in the offering during the Sunday morning worship services, or mailed to Heritage Church, 2935 Patterson Road, Grand Junction, CO 81504.   Be sure if you are a regular giver to Heritage Church that your giving is in addition to your general fund giving and not a substitute for it.  The general fund is necessary for the day to day operation of the church.
